Chief Technology Officer, Virtumundo, Inc., Kansas City, MO

1998–2002

Recruited, developed, mentored, motivated, and managed virtual teams of 15+, including developers, designers, graphic artists, UNIX administrators, and customer support staff. Established corporate technology infrastructure and managed ongoing operations. Negotiated procurement of all hardware, software, and IT services.

Planned, scheduled, and managed multiple projects during a period of rapid corporate growth. Led requirements gathering, project architecting, staffing, and scheduling. Created and implemented custom tools to manage deployment and updating of applications in the production environment.

Directed design, development, deployment, and support of interactive Internet lottery applications like TreeLoot.com, a multi-million-dollar MediaMatrix Top-50 Internet site; developed custom Web servers and application servers to support this application. Designed, developed, tested, and deployed Internet/intranet applications and other software systems for technology clients worldwide, including ActiveState (developers of Perl for Windows), Qualix (Web-based trouble ticketing application), and Virtumundo.

Software Engineer, Contract, Hewlett-Packard, Denver, CO

1995–1997

Member of a small team developing a Windows-based Test Executive (HP TestExec SL) for HP's Manufacturing Test Division on Windows 3.1, and, later, Windows 95 and Windows NT using Microsoft Visual C++ and MFC 2.x and 4.x. Ported TestExec to HP-UX. Designed and implemented major functional and user-interface enhancements.

Senior Software Engineer, Solbourne Computer, Inc., Longmont, CO

1991–1994

Designed the graphical user interface, network protocols, and programming interface for an X-Window-, client/server-based system administration product (PerfMon). Also led integration and testing effort for the product and assisted in its implementation using the Object Interface (OI) toolkit, C++, and Tcl on UNIX (OS/MP, Solbourne's port of SunOS). Conceived, evaluated, and developed software tools and processes. Automated and enhanced the integration, building, packaging, and installation of Solbourne's operating system products (ports of SunOS and Solaris).

Programmer/Analyst, New Mexico Inst. of Mining & Technology, Socorro, NM

1986–1991

Designed, implemented, and maintained a client/server software system for system resource accounting on the network using C, embedded SQL, an Ingres relational database, and remote procedure calls. Managed system and network administration for a network of Sun workstations and servers. Supervised and coordinated the efforts of student programmers.
